A group of us happened to watch an anime movie called Steamboy on halloween. It was a fairly decent movie as anime goes. I give it 3 or 3.5 stars. I enjoyed watching it, but also poking fun of certain aspects. It was, however, *exceptionally* steampunk. Also, for whatever flaws it might have had, it was beautifully illustrated. The contraptions and mechanics shown are wonderfully designed and detailed - all based on a certain anime/cinematic set of physics of course. Still, even if you hate anime and find you don't care for the story, if you like steampunk, it's worth watching just for that. ~PS

I love Steamboy! Its a wonderful story, in my opinion, and the steamworks are amazing. I encourage anyone to see it especially those interested in anime and/or steampunk.

It was good, but I had a really hard time knowing who to cheer for. And we all wanted to see Miss Scarlette's whiny self get dropped in the Thames. But the Steam Castle was pretty killer, even if it did break a few laws of thermodynamics.
